Flume shares his newest album, 'Palaces', this Friday (05/20), featuring a tracklist with various special guests.
In a press release, the artist says the project is inspired by the flora and fauna of Australia and began to take shape when he escaped Los Angeles at the start of the pandemic and returned to his homeland, finding inspiration by reconnecting with nature. “I named it 'Palaces' because when I came back home, it felt like my palace. I felt a lot of clarity, much more at ease, living a simpler life. That's when all the music came together.” he explains.
During this creative process, Flume and visual collaborator Jonathan Zawada became fascinated with local birds, collecting recordings and creating art inspired by these creatures, which breathe life into the entire identity of this project. The visual highlights in the album covers, tracks, and the aesthetics of the music videos and visual effects of his new tour show also feature beautiful contributions from artists Daniel Askill, Michael Hili, and Ram Han.
'Palaces' is released by Future Classic, the artist's independent label, with 13 tracks featuring special guests Caroline Polachek, Damon Albarn, Oklou, Emma Louise, LAUREL, MAY-A, Kučka, Virgen Maria, and Quiet Bison.
